Banging The Drum

How do you turn this,

Into this ?

All you need is a wood working lathe and, obviously, some skill. I'll let the images tell the story.

These images were shot at Pa Mok which is a small drum making village about 100k's North of Bangkok.

Cheers.

Bored To Heck - Part Two

Computers ? What did we ever do without them. Truthfully, I think we lead a more peaceful and simple existence.

Still, being a photographer in this day and age, it is a necessity.

Well, after spending two days trying to get my PC to run in a stable manner, I gave up, packed it up, grabbed a motorcycle taxi, and took it back from whence it came. It's only three months old and has warranty.

At the PC shop, and after telling my pitiful story, we unpacked the machine, plugged it all in and fired it up. It worked perfectly. Nothing I tried could induce the rebooting, keyboard errors, etc., etc.

The store owner then advised me that HP has on site warranty support for the first year and that it would be best if I took it back, reconnected it, and then called them.

Well, packed it all up again, brought it back to the office, set it all up, and fired it up. That was five hours ago. It has not missed a beat since. What the ... !!!!

Anyway, I hope there won't be a part three to this saga but, with computers, who knows ?

Cheers.

Bored To Heck

Well, they say 'S**t Happens'. Sure did.

My Win 7 PC totally died. Can't boot, can't restore, can't even load a new OS and can't change to XP. Drivers for almost everything are only supported by Win 7.

Worst part is all the work I did yesterday is on a partition on the same drive as the OS. Bummer.

Looks like best course of action is to rip out the hard disk and start totally from scratch. At least I can get the data off then.

Luckily, both my XP machines are still running perfectly.

So, while I try to figure out how to fix it, here it is in it's idle mode !!!!! Hopefully not for long though.

Thai Boxer

A while back I was invited to take photo's at the main local Thai Boxing stadium.

I spent some time following this young girl during her bout. She put up a brave fight, but sadly did not win.

Images shot with FujiFilm S100 fs and all at ISO 1600.

Stormy Weather

Went out for a ride on the 'bike today and got trapped by the rain. Thoroughly drenched but the cameras survived.

FujiFilm HS-10

One of the cameras I use is the FujiFilm HS-10.

Mostly I use it as a 'walk around' camera. It's fun to use and can capture some very nice images. Maybe not top of the list for IQ, but with a 24 to 720 mm optical zoom, it sure is versatile.

A few recent images above from the HS-10. All taken around about where I live.

More HS-10 images at my RedBubble Site
